FLYING OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST
The Mad Hatter lives at ADA Headquarters (Mercury Incorporated)
If there was ever a doubt that the criminally insane have been running the so-called
health care system that doubt is now banished forever by the actions of the FDA
and ADA regarding the issue of silver amalgam fillings. Read the inside story about
the corruption and madness involving the collusion of the ADA and the FDA in the
silver amalgam filling hoax at
link 2 and
In June, 2008, the FDA agreed to settle a lawsuit that I discuss below against the American Dental Association (the ADA), concerning dental mercury. In July, 2009 they reversed themselves in favor of the ADA. Well, isn't that a surprise. The ADA got to the FDA -- once again. Just like in 1990 when Morley Safer went "on air" with his CBS 60 Minutes show about the toxicity of mercury fillings. It didn;t make the ADA look good at all and the ADA got to CBS really fast. Only those who are hopelessly naive should expect the truth from the ADA and the FDA.
The FDA has agreed to settle a lawsuit concerning dental mercury. The first domino has fallen. Here is the link to the story on Bloomberg.com.
The case is: Moms Against Mercury v. Eschenbach, 07cv2332, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
In the settlement, the FDA agreed to bring to a conclusion by July 2009 a regulatory review of mercury in fillings that began in 2002. The process could result in a requirement that prescribing information warn dentists and pregnant women of nervous system dangers to fetuses and young children with developing brains. "Gone are all of FDA's claims that no science exists that amalgam is unsafe," said Michael Bender of Vermont, a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
"The worst thing they are doing is hiding the presence of mercury in fillings -- which they call silver amalgam -- and trying to keep dentists from saying the 'M' word and keep consumers from hearing the 'M' word. These fillings are 50% mercury, " the plaintiffs' attorney Charles Brown said.
The above quotation is taken from
this site discussing the lawsuit by a coalition of public interest groups
against the American Dental Association.
The following quotation is taken from this page of the World Health Organization's website. It is an official statement of the Canadian government, which also licenses the use of dental mercury.
"... amalgams contain approximately 50% elemental mercury. Human studies and experiments in laboratory animals indicate that dental amalgam contributes significantly to mercury body burden in humans who have amalgam fillings (IPCS, 1991; US DHHS, 1993; Weiner & Nylander, 1995; Health Canada, 1997)."
It appears that the ADA's control over FDA policy is collapsing. Here is a link with new information that, under growing public pressure, the FDA is about to reclassify mercury fillings and will force the ADA to issue warnings to patients about dental mercury. The long battle to force the ADA and the FDA to admit that mercury is highly toxic may be coming to an end. The issue of legal liability is about to hit the fan.
The ADA characterizes "silver amalgam" fillings as "a combination of other metals and mercury." ... other metals and mercury ... hmmm ... Notice that mercury is at the end of the ingredient list. The truth is "silver amalgam" fillings are 50% mercury. This is The Big Dental Lie. The FDA in collusion with the ADA has exempted "mercury amalgam" fillings from labeling laws that apply to every other product on the market right down to white bread and chewing gum. The ADA must have put a lot of pressure on the FDA to reverse the 2008 decision that it appeared Moms Against Mercury had won.
Moms Against Mercury? That's right. Mothers whose children are autistic because of mercury poisoning from the mothers' fillings launched and won the class action lawsuit in June 2008. Mercury crosses the placenta and is in the brain and all the other organs of the unborn child -- autism. You can see the specter of legal action by mothers of autistic children on the horizon. Do you see any information in the office of your friendly neighborhood dentist about mercury being dangerous? A warning on the wall of your dentist's office? Fat chance. That's what the 2009 reversal of the 2008 settlement was all about. A warning on your dentist's wall could get everybody thinking about mercury. If mercury is not good for mother then what about father? The FDA classifies "silver amalgam" fillings as a "moderate risk" device? End of problem. A what? A device? That's right. Mercury fillings are not a substance at all according to the FDA -- in order to exempt them from scientific scrutiny -- and legal liability. This special ADA exemption for dental mercury from the FDA is necessary because mercury has been scientifically proven to be the second most toxic heavy metal on the planet and the most potent neuto-toxin on the planet.
According to the FDA mercury fillings are a device like your hair dryer or your toaster -- those things you turn on by pushing a button. The dictionary says a device is a machine. Since when does a toxic heavy metal become a machine? Can you believe such a bald-faced lie is the basis for poisoning millions of people with deadly mercury? Well, it is. Why is dental mercury classified as "hazardous waste" by the EPA before it is put in your mouth and classified as "hazardous waste" by the EPA after it is removed from your mouth -- it is not classified as a "hazardous device" -- but in your mouth it magically becomes a "harmless alloy" acording to the ADA? How does "hazardous waste" become a "device" and then become an "harmless alloy" and then become "hazardous waste" again? Go ask the FDA and the EPA. It sounds like magic. Maybe we should go ask David Copperfield.
This "device" called mercury has been scientifically proven to be the most powerful toxic heavy metal on the planet after radioactive plutonium. It is listed on the chart of elements with all the other metals and elements on the planet. The only chart in the world where it is listed as a device is on the ADA/FDA chart. I think they must have read 1984 and passed around copies in the office. George Orwell must be rolling over in his grave.
Susan Runner, the acting director for the FDA division that oversees dental devices, says there is no "causal link" between amalgam fillings and health problems. If you know a bigger liar than Susan Runner and a bigger bunch of liars than the ADA/FDA then please email me. In the press release regarding the FDA reversal Consumer Reports, another bunch of liars, are used as a proxy to let everyone know that "the best available scientific evidence supports the conclusion that patients with dental amalgam fillings are not at risk." The "best available" evidence. What a crock of horse manure. Consumer Reports to the rescue? Uh, oh, I smell a rat. This has just become a P.R. exercise where someone held in esteem by the gullible public lends legitimacy to The Big Lie to convince everyone it's OK to have mercury 2 inches from your brain. In an earlier Consumer Reports article Mary Logan, counsel for the ADA, stated: "We don't want to make the public hysterical!" Of course not. If the public becomes hysterical because they realize they are being poisoned by mercury then the proverbial s**t hits the proverbial fan.
Is the "best evidence" of the ADA/FDA, backed by good old Consumer Reports, the experts on hair dryers and toasters, more credible than the "better than best" scientific evidence of Dr. Murray Vimy in Calgary, Canada that shows dental mercury kills brain neurons? For the ADA/FDA and Consumer Reports the "best evidence" is simply the bogus evidence that they use to convince people that poison is not really poison. The real weapon of mass destruction is in your mouth backed by the "Good Housekeeping Seal" -- press releases from the ADA/FDA and Consumer Reports. The Dental Mafia is Murder Incorporated.
"Part of the problem is that while much is known about high exposures to heavy metals, questions remain about "what is happening at chronic low-level exposure over a lifetime," said Urvashi Rangan, the director of technical policy for Consumer Reports, whose group was not part of the initial lawsuit." Another crock of horse manure. "Part of the problem" is that Consumer Reports are pathological liars who have always acted as a proxy for the ADA/FDA. They are in collusion with them. Did you notice how Consumer Reports magically made the word "mercury" disappear and substituted the words "heavy metals" in its place? That's what I call the smoking gun of deception -- just put back in the holster by Urvashi Rangan of Consumer Reports. Mercury is just another heavy metal, right? So we can just go ahead and substitute the words "heavy metal" for the word "mercury". No problem, right? Consumer Reports are doing us a favor by eliminating the word mercury from the discussion and lumping it with all the other "heavy metals", right?
Thanks for all your help, Consumer Reports. The only problem is that mercury is head and shoulders above all other heavy metals on the scale of toxicity, except for radioactive plutonium!! Yikes!! Mercury is next to radioactive plutonium!!? And that's what dentists and the ADA are putting in our mouths!!? That's right. This is an indisputable scientific fact. Are you getting the picture now? Of course the ADA knows this, the FDA knows this and Consumer Reports knows this. That's why I say that pathological lying for commercial gain is at the root of the entire issue of mercury fillings. The fox is guarding the hen house. And now they have armed guards making sure the foxes stay where they are. "The FDA has left the decision about dental treatment right where it needs to be -- between the dentist and the patient," according to the president of the ADA Dr. John Findley -- as though the ADA had nothing to do with that decision. Are you kidding? The ADA had nothing to do with the FDA reversal? And my name is Eleanor Roosevelt. Let them make their telephone logs public. The ADA once again throws the responsibility for the use of dental mercury in the lap of the dentists -- "where it needs to be". Of course that's where it needs to be. The ADA muzzles dentists threatening them with removal of their license to practice if they even utter the word mercury. The ADA controls dentists and the dentist/patient relationship. That relationship is based on the principle of uninformed consent. It is called lying by omission. The ADA keeps the mercury issue in the dentist's office so they can control it on the micro level -- pretending whether to use mercury or not is a decision between dentist and patient -- between whom the word mercury is never uttered.
The truth is that the mercury issue is one of corporate criminality and belongs at ADA Headquarters in Chicago where the ADA could get legal crap knocked out of them if someone cared enough and had enough money to put them in the legal grave where they belong -- to take the mercury issue out of the dental office and throw it back in the lap of the ADA where it belongs. Actually it never left the lap of the ADA -- they only create the illusion that it did. Wait a minute. I have a good idea. I see Warren Buffett and Bill Gates parading in front of the cameras wanting to do good for the health of humanity. I think I'll Google Warren Buffett to see if I can get his phone number. I know The Oracle of Omaha wants to do good and I think he may have enough money to see this thing through.
Wait, isn't Warren Buffett in the insurance business? Forget it, he wouldn't touch the mercury issue with a ten-foot pole. I don't think he's really interested in issues anyway. Except if it helps make money for him and his corporate friends. He focuses on the one important issue in life -- making money -- and then making more money. I can understand that. Every man has to be a provider. I mean who wants to worry about dental mercury and people getting poisoned by your insurees when you need to concentrate on corporate bonds and derivatives. You know what I mean? Getting back to the ADA, of course the ADA wants to keep the mercury issue as far away from Chicago, Illinois as possible to protect themselves from litigation. The ADA and the FDA are scared sh**less of the estimated 3 trillion dollars in legal liability if the truth were legally recognized that they have been knowingly poisoning everyone with mercury in friendly neighborhood dental offices for the past 150 years. That bit of pocket change would probably perk up the insurers -- even Warren Buffett. Berkshire Hathaway shareholders might not be happy with the results.
All the mercury-using dentists are toxic and everyone who works in the dental office is toxic. This is a scientific fact. I have read the medical studies. Do you mean to tell me that dental patients are not mercury toxic? Do you mean to tell me that ignoring the facts changes the facts -- that ignoring Dr. Murray Vimy's proof that mercury fillings are highly toxic makes them non-toxic? If you know a bigger bunch liars and murderers than the ADA/FDA and their proxy Consumer Reports then please email me. The ADA/FDA have a license to kill and they have never had any qualms about using it. In my article below I say they belong in jail. I am revising my opinion. I think they belong in an institution for the criminally insane. That's where pathological liars turned serial killers belong so they can be studied to see what makes them evil. That way all may not be in vain. Unfortunately, history shows the ADA/FDA will most likely continue to get away with murder.
It is the pathology of evil that is at the root of the problem. President Obama talks about health care reform. What a joke. The fox is guarding the hen house -- with armed guards. In my opinion the truth will never be publicly revealed. The truth is never revealed when the fallout could cause serious social problems -- and in this case add a number with a lot of zeros after it to the federal budget deficit. It's like the JFK assassination. The single bullet theory. What a wonderful theory. Arlen Specter is still around. I hear he's a Senator now. The President of the United States had an autopsy that was not fit for a skid row bum. You can be sure Arlen Specter's autopsy will be first class. They won't lose the brain this time. The JFK cover-up will last forever. The truth is too dangerous to be revealed. The dental mercury cover-up will also last forever. The truth is too dangerous to be revealed. The truth about mercury fillings would pose too great a threat to the powers that control the health care system. It's all about money and power. It is not about health care. It never has been. It's about the pathology of evil.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and all the other billionaire VIPs parading as helpers are a mockery of the truth trying to get everyone in the world vaccinated -- Donald Rumsfeld was the CEO of Serle Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Tamiflu the miracle flu vaccine -- that reduces flu symptoms a whole 24 hours -- but it caused a "side effect" called psychosis in students who were innoculated. Psychosis is a "side-effect"? 24-hour relief is the effect? How about 24-hour relief is a "side effect" and psychosis is the effect. That sounds more like it. I think they'll have to change the insert -- and make the font a bit smaller so it's harder to read. The billionaire VIPs and their photo-ops are part of the problem, not part of the solution. The words "corrupt health care system" will never cross their lips. You will never hear a word from them about the most serious unreported source of pathology in the medical world -- mercury fillings. There are too many billionaires like Warren Buffett and his friends cashing in on the health-care system. Warren Buffett is in the insurance business. Don't rock the boat. The warm and fuzzy oracle of Omaha should stay home and worry about health insurance rates. The computer genius Bill Gates should stay home and worry about the computer programs for health insurance companies. The truth will never come from those profiting from The Big Lie.
The truth is the solution to the probnlem. It is the only solution. But Morley Safer was the only one who ever made it "on air" -- in 1990 with a report on the toxicity of mercury fillings. The second airing of that CBS 60 Minutes show never happened. The ADA/FDA got to CBS very quickly. Here we are 20 years later. Nothing has changed. The ADA just got to the FDA again. The Axis of Evil is right here at home. It always has been. The weapons of mass destruction are not out there. They never have been. They are right here at home under our own noses. It's just that we have lost our sense of smell. Some of us have. I have a good nose. I can still smell a rat.
The ADA, The American Dental Association, recently stopped maintaining the fiction that so-called "silver amalgam" fillings are scientifically proven to be safe. This came about as the result of a court case I will discuss below. What happened is that the ADA found out that so-called "silver amalgams" actually contain 50% mercury and only 35% silver. So, "silver amalgams" are really mercury amalgams. Seeing as the ADA holds the patents for "silver amalgam" fillings this was quite a discovery for them to make. Of course, everyone knows that mercury is deadly poison. The only thing the general public didn't know was that all those beautiful silver-colored fillings in their mouths contained 50% mercury. According to the World Health Organization "...mercury from amalgam fillings is the single greatest source of mercury for the general population..." So, it is no accident that the ADA calls its fillings "silver amalgams" rather than mercury amalgams. The word silver sounds a lot better than the word mercury. As long as they can get away with this deception, what the heck, "open wide". During their court case the ADA actually admitted that mercury fillings may be harmful but it abdicated all responsibility for any damage done by the mercury in their patented fillings. In fact the ADA's website still says "silver amalgams" are safe. Let me see now, safe, not safe, safe, not safe. Let's investigate further the game that the ADA plays with the public. Then you'll be better able to judge how careful you should be the next time you pay a visit to your friendly family dentist, the one who puts mercury in your mouth with the ADA's approval and who has the ADA's good housekeeping seal of approval on the wall. Watch this short movie showing how dental mercury causes brain damage. The next time you visit your "silver amalgam" dentist show him this information and ask him these six questions.
Visit a mercury-free dentist in your area. You can find one here.
From the ADA's website: "Dental amalgam is considered a safe, affordable and durable material that has been used to restore the teeth of more than 100 million Americans. It contains a mixture of metals such as silver, copper and tin, in addition to mercury, which chemically binds these components into a hard, stable and safe substance. Dental amalgam has been studied and reviewed extensively, and has established a record of safety and effectiveness. Depending on treatment needs, it is one material available to dentists and patients when considering restorative options." But in court, contradicting this statement, the ADA admitted that "silver amalgam" fillings may be harmful. Actually it's not the fillings, it's the 50% mercury we're not supposed to know is in the fillings, surprise, surprise. Maybe the ADA should think about updating their website. Maybe they shouldn't. Maybe they should talk to their lawyers first. I take it all back. Mercury is perfectly stable in "silver amalgam" fillings. And my name is Eleanor Roosevelt. If you like reading fiction you'll enjoy reading the latest news on the ADA's website from Chicago, Illinois, about the safety of dental mercury. It's breath-taking.
If the ADA changes their website to excise the lies that are there, when they are brought up on criminal charges related to the health effects caused by the mercury in their patented "silver amalgam" fillings the prosecuting attorneys will undoubtedly ask some pointed questions in court about why they changed their site and why they reversed their long-held stance that "silver amalgams" are safe, and why they lied for so long. Changing their website on such an important matter will not absolve the ADA of guilt. On the contrary. The ADA has known about the toxicity of "silver amalgams" since 1859. Disgorging the truth about dental mercury under pressure in court and changing their website will be a de facto admission of guilt. If the ADA doesn't change their site then they'll be even worse off because they will be continuing to flaunt their lies. Either way the ADA will end up losing. That's what the ADA is afraid of. They have no place to hide. They are between a rock and a very hard place, which is better known as the penitentiary.
Let's look at the ADA's website again. "Dental amalgam...contains a mixture of metals such as silver, copper and tin, in addition to mercury, which chemically binds these components into a hard, stable and safe substance." Let me read that again. Amalgam is "...a mixture of...in addition to mercury". Mercury comes at the end of the list. It looks like the ADA is trying to sneak mercury in there at the end without people noticing. According to the ADA, mercury, by far the number one ingredient by weight and volume in "silver amalgams", is the least important ingredient on their list when it should be featured as the most important. Mercury is the single largest ingredient in "silver amalgams" and it is at the end of the ADA's ingredient list. Do you think there is intent to deceive on the part of the ADA? Raise your hands, please.
Mercury at the end of the list? That's like putting white flour at the end of the ingredient list for white bread. What are the chances of a bakery getting away with that? What the heck does "...a mixture such as..." mean anyway? "Such as" must be a new scientific term. How about "a mixture such as 50% mercury"? How would that sound to the ADA? I don't think the ADA would like the sound of that kind "such as" very much at all. That's way too specific. It mentions the word mercury, which is taboo at the ADA. In court they would have to raise their right hand and swear to tell the truth about dental mercury.
On the ADA's website they talk about what "silver amalgams" are made from. At the end of their ingredient list they casually mention "in addition to mercury", as though a pinch of mercury is thrown in just for flavor at the end of the recipe? Mercury makes up 50% of "silver" fillings. The other metals, including silver, are the additions thrown in for flavor at the end of the recipe. Could the ADA's deliberate deceptiveness be any clearer after reading this sleight of mouth as well as all the other contradictory information disseminated by the ADA on their website and in the lawsuit referred to above? Their intent to deceive is criminal. Never mind. Open wide.
Believe it or not the ADA actually runs a series of weekly cooking classes at ADA headquarters because is has an overstock of mercury. The classes are free of charge and are open to the public. Last week's cooking class was entitled "Mercury cake and cookie recipes: they taste good and they're good for you too!" They're planning to put the whole series of cooking classes on their website really soon. And you'll be able to order the DVD's online. After they talk to their lawyers, of course. You never know what they're cooking up for the public.
There has never been a single study, nor any shred of evidence, to prove the truth of this statement on the ADA's website: "...amalgam...chemically binds these components into a hard, stable and safe substance". There is no scientific proof that that mixing mercury with other metals binds it and, thereby, inactivates it, making it stable and safe. In fact, all the facts prove precisely the contrary which, ironically, the ADA has even admitted in court. Mercury leaches from "silver amalgam" fillings slowly and inexorably, 24 hours a day. Poisoning by slow increments is the result. Death by 1000 cuts is often the result for those whose immune systems are vulnerable and whose genetic make-up is not mercury-resistant. How much mercury has been scientifically shown to leach from "silver amalgam" fillings? The ADA understates the true amount by a factor of 100. That's a nice round number around which they create The Big Dental Lie. Intent to deceive? Let's put it this way. The ADA are professional liars. Why? Because lying = money. They have no intention of ever voluntarily telling the truth about dental mercury. In the end, only public pressure and legal pressure will make any difference to them.
The ADA cannot produce one single study proving the veracity of their statement implying the inactivation of mercury by mixing it with other metals, because no such study exists. What's the name of the alloy that is produced when 50% mercury, silver and other metals are combined? Copper and iron are called bronze. Iron and nickel are called steel. Mercury and other metals are mercury fillings. The ADA's statement about the stability and safety of mercury is an out and out lie. The fact is that mercury is not chemically bound in any way to the other metals in "silver amalgam" fillings. Stating that it is chemically bound, that it is an alloy, implies that mercury is not released into the tissues. In fact mercury is constantly released into the tissues, as you will see below. This has been proven by Dr. Murray Vimy of Calgary, Canada. The burden of proof is on the ADA to prove that mercury is safe. Since when is the burden of proof on those to prove that a known toxin is non-toxic? The ADA need to put the whole thing on its head to make it work. They have never proven mercury is safe and they will never be able to do so. The ADA's favorite tactic is to claim that mercury is safe, even though it has been known for centuries to be highly toxic. Then they point their finger in the other direction and demand proof from the ADA's detractors that mercury is harmful, which their detractors gladly provide and which the ADA then gladly ignores.
The ADA figures if they keep ignoring the truth and keep repeating The Big Lie it will be believed. Like the lie about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Or like the Really Big Lie that was repeated for centuries about the Earth being flat, which everyone believed, including the ADA. Actually, it is a little known fact that the ADA has proof in its files that, contrary to popular belief, the Earth was indeed flat until 1957. No kidding. They don't talk about it very much, of course, and you can't find a page about it on their website. But here is the ADA's version of the Flat Earth from their archives in Chicago. It is in the same file cabinet as their file on the stability and safety of mercury in "silver amalgam" fillings, coincidently.
"The earth was originally flat, did you know that? It gradually became round over a period of centuries as a result of volcanic activity, tidal erosion, centrifugal force, the Ice Age, tectonic pressure, pressure from the clergy, some hard thinking on the part of a few scientists and philosophers and a great deal of political pressure. Anyway, in 1957 people finally stopped falling off the end of the earth and everybody was very happy about that. The last unfortunate person to fall off the end of the Earth was Harold Finkelstein who was on his way to the 7-11 to buy hamburger buns in Kalamazoo Michigan on September 13, 1957. Yes, it was a Friday, unfortunately. In case you would like to verify these facts the ADA actually has the information in its files at ADA Headquarters. This all came about because Harold was on his way to the dentist after stopping off at the 7-11 where the local TV station had its camera rolling while interviewing the manager about a recent robbery when Harold was actually caught on camera falling off the edge of the Earth in the 7-11 parking lot. He never made his dental appointment and the ADA bought the film from the local TV station for its archives, in Harold's memory."
Just give the ADA a call or send them an email and they'll be glad to send you a copy of the Harold Finkelstein file and a DVD of Harold falling off the end of the Earth. In case they are having trouble locating it you can tell them Ken Presner sent you and that the file is in the Chicago Headquarters of the ADA in their Archive Department on the 42nd floor, room 67B, row 53, file cabinet #1089, just before the file on the safety of "silver amalgam" fillings.
How many centuries do you think it will take for dental mercury to become harmful? If the ADA has their way it will probably take 300 to 400 years, give or take a few hundred years. That's just a conservative estimate, mind you.
The fictitious claim by the ADA that mercury is not released from "silver amalgam" fillings has been proven scientifically false by Dr. Murray Vimy in Calgary. The ADA knows about Dr. Vimy, of course. He was a scientific consultant to the World Health Organization's Committee on Mercury in the Environment. He is a research dentist at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. At first the ADA chose to ignore Dr. Vimy. Later, when they found that wasn't working, they chose to admit that Dr. Vimy was correct but they figured out a different angle. Contrary to all the evidence, they chose to downplay the importance of Dr. Vimy's findings. Dr. Vimy has shown that the mercury from "silver amalgams" is constantly released into the brain and other organs and that when it is released it is just as toxic as before being mixed into "silver amalgams". It is highly toxic. The ADA finally admitted defeat. You can only call chocolate ice cream vanilla ice cream for so long. On the one hand the ADA has acknowledged that mercury leaches from "silver amalgams" fillings but, on the other hand, it has chosen to understate the amount of mercury that leaches from those fillings by a factor of 100. In other words it admits that mercury leaches from fillings but it states that the amount that leaches is only 1% of the true amount. This is only one of many breathtaking lies that the ADA perpetrates. This particular lie is very significant because it shows that the ADA knows how enormously toxic dental mercury is. It could have chosen to downplay it by a factor of, let's say, 2 or 5 or even 10 or 20. But to get mercury levels down far enough so that the ADA would be able to argue them into biochemical insignificance they had to downplay dental mercury by a factor of 100. A factor of 100 is enormous. It changes mercury from being highly toxic into being about as safe as organic carrots. This outrageous lie is actually a de facto admission of guilt by the ADA. It is the "silver amalgam" smoking gun. I wonder what the ADA's lawyers were thinking on that day at ADA headquarters when they invented this special lie. Never mind. Having gone to the trouble of inventing this lie the ADA proceeded to contradict it completely, choosing to deny on its website the fact that mercury leaches from "silver amalgams" at all. Does all this surprise you? The ADA lets the audience choose door #1 or door #2 depending on the occasion, enabling it to lie under oath or lie while not under oath. Its lawyers have created 2 contradictory messages for the ADA, one for each side of its mouth. "White man speak with forked tongue." The fun part is that the ADA has learned to keep a really straight face while telling all their lies.
Did you notice that the word "safe" appears 3 times in the above paragraph entitled "Do you Like Reading Fiction", which was taken from the ADA's website? Notice that this statement contradicts their statements in the lawsuit, below, where they admit the "alleged" dangers of dental mercury while abdicating all responsibility for those dangers. What is one to believe? It looks like the ADA's lawyers forgot to read the ADA website. Maybe their computer was down. Mercury is either "allegedly dangerous" or it is "safe". Which one is it, ADA? The great thing is you can have it both ways if you rely on the ADA for information. If you're foolish enough to even listen to the ADA you can have it anyway you want. You can just make it up as you go along which is what the ADA's lawyers do when they defend the ADA. Do you think their lawyers believe any of the lies they create for the ADA?
You might find it strange to learn that the ADA does not offer certification for the safe and effective use of "silver amalgams" by your friendly neighborhood dentist. It holds the patents on "silver amalgams" but it won't certify its own product. This is a first in the marketplace. The ADA is the first patent holder in history that refuses to back its own product. Their lawyers won't let them, not that they were going to, anyway. Is the ADA afraid that silver which constitutes 35% of "silver amalgam" fillings may be toxic, or is it afraid that mercury which constitutes 50% of "silver amalgam" fillings may be toxic? ADA: "Uh, lemme see. Could you repeat the question please?" The ADA could only certify the safety of its "silver amalgam" fillings by putting its head more firmly into the "silver amalgam" legal liability noose. The ADA is between a proverbial rock and a proverbial hard place. It knows better than anyone that "silver amalgams" are highly poisonous. The ADA is the biggest mercury salesman in the world. If they don't know what's in "silver amalgams" then who does? ADA: "The ingredient list? Uh, lemme see now, here it is, sugar and spice and everything nice. No problem, open wide, please."
The ADA recently filed legal briefs in which it abdicated any responsibility for the damage done by mercury amalgams in Tolhurst v. Johnson & Johnson, a California lawsuit in which a dental patient sued his dentist, two amalgam manufacturers, a distributor and the ADA itself. The brief stated: "The ADA owes no legal duty of care to protect the public from allegedly dangerous products used by dentists. The ADA did not manufacture, design, supply, or install the mercury-containing amalgams. The ADA does not control those who do. The ADA's only alleged involvement was to provide information regarding its use. Dissemination of information relating to the practice of dentistry does not create a duty of care to protect the public from potential injury." Breathtaking, simply breathtaking. The ADA only provides information and is responsible for absolutely nothing in the dental world.
The ADA has great lawyers, don't you think? They have refashioned ADA headquarters in downtown Chicago into an information booth. All the ADA does is give out information. That's the extent of their "alleged involvement" with dental mercury. In fact they are only "allegedly" involved with dental mercury. Even though they hold the patents for "silver amalgam" fillings. One day they will be brought to their knees in court and forced to lie under oath with their hand on the Bible. All they do at ADA headquarters is run back and forth to Kinko's having leaflets printed up about the safety of dental mercury. So help me God. Kinko's really loves the ADA. Oh, I forgot. The ADA also hands out those leaflets at dental clinics while holding the door open for patients. They don't make any money from mercury, they don't control dentists, they are not the biggest dental monopoly in the world, they have no conflict of interest. They only provide information. Breathtaking, simply breathtaking.
And when the ADA gets their information wrong, that's your tough luck, sunny boy. Because the ADA is not even responsible for the accuracy of the information they give out. Of course not, how could they possibly be responsible for the lies they disseminate about "silver amalgam" fillings? Mercury is only "allegedly dangerous", the ADA has no duty to "protect the public from potential injury" and the ADA is only "allegedly involved" in the whole matter. That's breath-taking. The ADA holds the alleged door open at the alleged dental clinic, they hand out a few alleged leaflets, they don't drop off any alleged mercury, they don't make any alleged bank deposits, and they walk away from any alleged responsibility and all alleged liability. Now that's what I call doing business the allegedly smart way. The ADA certainly must have a team of allegedly great lawyers.
But there is a slight problem with all this. If the ADA is only an information provider how does it make all that money, and why is it defending itself against "potential injury" from a product that it says is safe and that, anyway, it claims it has no responsibility for? What is it worried about? Furthermore, even if it had some responsibility in the matter, if "silver amalgams" are safe, according to the ADA site, where is the "potential injury" coming from that the ADA talks about in court? The ADA is running scared. But it has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. It puts its foot in its mouth at every turn. The truth is there for all to see. One night they will wake up in a cold sweat. The following morning they will find that the truth has finally caught up with them. Until then the ADA's motto remains, What, me worry?
The ADA has yet to deny the following statement made on its behalf by the government:
"The American Dental Association itself has never had a patent on any amalgam formulations."
This is an example of the bald-faced lying the ADA is famous for, supported by the government.
Here's the truth about the ADA "silver amalgam" patents:
"The ADA's interest in protecting and promoting mercury fillings is also illustrated
by the fact that the ADA owns two patents on amalgam -- patent numbers
4,018,600 and 4,078,091."
These patents have now expired.
In court the ADA will be asked to raise their right hand and swear they never had any patents on amalgam fillings and they did't make any money from selling mercury.
The truth is that the ADA is the dental industry monopoly controlling 70% of the entire dental industry nation-wide. The ADA is the profit engine behind the dental industry. The ADA is the governing body of dentists nation-wide. The ADA makes the policies and rules that govern dentists. But, according to the ADA, they are only in the public service business, providing information to the public, information which may or may not be accurate, about a product they have no responsibility for. Of course, they hide one important piece of information from the public: the fact that the ADA is in the mercury business. The ADA makes its living from selling mercury, from its high-mercury "silver amalgam" patents and from its pay-for-play endorsements. One interesting piece of information the ADA provides the public is that the ADA "does not control" dentists. It just happens to govern most of the dentists nation-wide but it "does not control" them? Did I get that right? Oh, I see. The ADA is just holding the door for the dentists and handing out information leaflets to patients about how safe mercury is. The ADA is just the Dental Doorman. I'll have more to say shortly about how the ADA controls dentists.
It's lucky for the ADA that all this hasn't made it to the Nightly News. But I do recall that a story about "silver amalgams" made it to CBS's 60 Minutes way back in 1990 and caused a huge storm, as you can well imagine, when Morley Safer nailed the ADA to the wall, while the ADA stuttered and stammered about mercury being safely bound in amalgam, and all the other nonsense. The ADA got really mad, no kidding, and they made a few phone calls. And that was the end of that. The show was supposed to be aired a second time. The ADA's lawyers took care of that. Thank goodness. Who the heck does that Morley Safer think he is telling people "silver amalgams" can kill you? Thankfully, the chances are slim to nil this piece of bad news will ever make it to The Nightly News. The ADA's lawyers are working very hard to make sure that never happens. Man, that 60 Minutes scare was bad enough. The blood pressure at ADA Headquarters was way up that day. It was a "gimme-a-valium" kind of day, as you can imagine. Anyway, the ADA's lawyers came to the rescue and everything was soon back to normal, whatever that means.
Let's put it this way: the ADA knows how to tell The Big Dental Mercury Lie with a very straight face to hide its conflict of interest. The ADA is the same as the tobacco companies who hired lawyers to tell people cigarette smoke tobacco is not dangerous for your health. Except mercury is far more toxic than cigarette smoke, of course. One seventieth of a teaspoon of mercury in a 25-acre lake renders all the fish in that lake toxic. You only need a few atoms of mercury to cause neurological damage. One single puff of mercury vapor can kill you. Now that's what I call toxic. Mercury is in a class all its own when it comes to toxicity. That's why your dentist keeps it sealed in water. Until he quickly "places" it in your mouth where the strongest neurotoxin on the planet suddenly and miraculously becomes safe. The ADA is too busy trying to make a living selling mercury to worry about all that. They let their lawyers to create whatever lies they need to tell about dental mercury to fit the bottom line. There is no way the ADA will ever tell the truth about mercury voluntarily. That would be tantamount to committing suicide, and the ADA knows it. It would lose its mercury income, lose its lucrative endorsement contracts, and face criminal and civil lawsuits. It would be out of business and behind bars. Telling the truth would mean game over for the ADA. Lying is their only option. Like I said, they are between a legal rock and a proverbial hard place.
So, how does the ADA solve the problem of their conflict of interest? Problem, what problem? The only solution for the ADA is to act in its own self interest, not in the best interest of its patients. And it does that very, very well. It lies with a straight face to assure its own survival. Some of the ADA's lies are bald-faced while others are lies of omission. But one thing is for sure. The ADA lies with the obvious intent to deceive dental patients. The bottom line is that the ADA wants to keep the mercury profits coming in month after month and year after year. They have made billions of dollars from selling mercury. They are the largest mercury salesmen in the world. The ADA has no intention of giving all that up. So, they have no alternative but to lie through their teeth, excuse the pun, in order to keep the profits rolling in and to save their own skin. Mercury is their product. Lying is their stock in trade. The bigger the lie the better for business. They were not the first to discover this fundamental truth.
Anyway, getting back to the court case, the court agreed that the ADA bore no responsibility for the use of amalgam and dismissed the ADA from the case. Let me catch my breath. Apparently we are expected to ignore, as the court ignored, the fact that the ADA holds the patents on the "silver amalgams" currently in use by most dentists, that the ADA is responsible for certifying all dental schools in the United States, and that the ADA does not encourage cutting-edge dentists to use any product or procedure other than what they were taught in dental school, which includes the main profit-producing high-mercury product the ADA holds the patents for, "silver amalgam" fillings. The court was a complete and utter jackass. They actually agreed with the ADA. Awesome. Boy, did they ever have a party at ADA headquarters that day. They had some mercury left over from their Christmas party so they threw it in the punch. They have just rechristened ADA Headquarters "Mad Hatters Headquarters". The Mad Hatter was the character in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, published in 1865, who went mad because of the occupational hazard of using mercury to make felt hats. Yes, they knew way back when, just around the time the ADA was founded, that mercury drives people nuts. Dentists have the highest suicide rate of any professional group. Geez, I wonder why?
You might find it strange that "silver amalgam" fillings are mysteriously exempt from all safety and labeling laws. You can't sell fish contaminated with mercury. But you can sell "silver amalgam" fillings that are thousands of times more poisonous than toxic fish. Why? Because the government says it's OK. The FDA to be more specific. The FDA in collusion with the ADA. You can't call whole wheat bread "whole wheat bread" unless it contains mostly whole wheat. Right? Then why can you call mercury amalgam fillings "silver amalgam fillings"? We're not talking about whole wheat here. We're talking about mercury, the most powerful neurotoxin on the planet "placed" two inches from the brain being exempt from the labeling laws that bread and chewing gum have to abide by, or else. It's pretty clear that, with all the evidence stacked against it, the ADA had to figure out a mercury marketing scheme. They got together in their board room, they called their lawyers in and they came up with the perfect answer to their problem. Their marketing scheme is known at ADA Headquarters as "Lying with a Straight Face". With the collusion of the FDA, of course, without which the whole game would have been up a long time ago.
The ADA says "silver amalgam" cannot be certified because it is mixed by individual dentists who must take responsibility for the safety of mercury fillings. As though mixing it this way makes the mercury toxic and mixing it that way makes it safe. More verbal smoke and mirrors from the ADA. I call it sleight of mouth. Remember that the ADA is the governing body of dentists nation-wide. How does the ADA handle the concept of its own responsibility? The ADA passes responsibility and legal liability back to the dentists it governs. The buck stops...over there. ADA, you're great. You're like David Copperfield stepping aside and letting the rabbit take the ovation. That's what I call being really modest.
The ADA holds the patents on mercury fillings that dentists put in patients' mouths. The dentists that they govern don't hold any patents. The ADA benefits from the pay-to-play agreements with amalgam manufacturers, the endorsements that shovel billions of dollars into the ADA bank account. Dentists don't. Endorsements make up nearly 50% of the ADA's annual revenue. The dentists that the ADA governs don't benefit from pay-for-play and endorsements. The ADA is the one calling the shots in the dental industry. They are the dental monopoly that controls 70% of the dental trade in the U.S.A. And they want to shift the responsibility for their product, "silver amalgams", back to the dentists. Shifting responsibility to the dentists is like the bakery saying "Uh, we didn't bake the bread, the baker did it. He's responsible for all those loaves. Our name is on the package and on the outside of the building in neon lights? Uh, wait a minute. Let me call my lawyer."
WONDERFUL MERCURY from MERCURY HEADQUARTERS
According to the ADA's Code of Ethics (remember, the ADA does not "control" dentists" -- but it has a code of ethics for them), any dentist who removes a "serviceable" amalgam filling from a patient, other than an "allergic" patient, for the purpose of removing a toxic substance (mercury) from the patient's body is acting unethically. How could it possibly do that if "silver amalgam" fillings are not toxic? Let me read that again. If your dentist tells you mercury is poison and he suggests that you get the mercury out of your mouth your dentist is deemed unethical according to the ADA and the ADA can revoke the dentist's license. Wow, that's another breathtaking moment brought to you by the ADA. Now don't forget, the ADA does not control dentists.
The ADA has rules of conduct for dentists. One of its rules compels dentists to stand silent instead of advising patients and the public about the health risks associated with "silver amalgam" fillings. This is The Big Dental Lie by omission. If the dentist does not obey the ADA he can have his license revoked. The ADA is only holding the door? It does not control dentists? If the power to fire dentists is not control, then I don't know what is. That's a great Code of Ethics you have there, ADA. Thank you for helping keep your patients healthy. Oh, sorry, I forgot, they're not really your patients. And you have no responsibility whatsoever toward them. You're just handing out leaflets telling people mercury is safe 2 inches from their brain. And thanks for holding the door. Do you think conflict of interest has anything to do with the ADA discouraging dentists from removing the ADA's patented "silver amalgam" fillings from patients' mouths? Do you think money may have something to do with this, like a little spare change to take the kids to the show on the weekend? Send me an email, ADA, say to me "Aw, come on, Ken, don't be so cynical. It's not like that at all." Tell me I'm wrong, ADA. Go ahead, make my day. I'll be glad to upload your email to my website for everyone to read.
The Hippocratic Oath "Do No Harm" does not apply to dentists and their governing body, the ADA. How could it possibly? They are in the business of selling mercury fillings to dental patients while intentionally mislabeling them "silver amalgam" fillings. Mercury is the most toxic non-radioactive element on the planet and the ADA's business consists of "placing" it 2 inches from the brain of people who will let them. Of course, anyone who knew the truth would not allow such a thing, so the ADA has to lie to get people to accept what they would never accept if they knew the truth. "Placing" is such a gentle word, like placing a napkin on the dinner table. Mercury just happens to be the most powerful neurotoxin on the planet. Harm is the only possible outcome from "placing" mercury 2 inches from the brain. "Do No Harm"? You gotta be joking. The ADA's version is "Ya Gotta Do Whacha Ya Gotta Do".
That's the sad truth for those millions suffering from diseases caused by dental mercury poisoning such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) and autism. Moreover, mercury toxicity from dental fillings has now been linked to heart disease, thyroid disease and cancer. The proof of this is in the fact that neurological diseases can be reversed, and have been reversed, by removing dental mercury safely and by doing DMSA chelation to remove mercury from brain tissue and other organs where it concentrates. I, and others I know, have accomplished this. Tom Warren wrote the book Beating Alzheimer's which was based on his own personal experience of removing dental mercury and doing DMSA chelation. All this is very bad news for the ADA, because if people are mercury poisoned where did all that mercury come from? Oh, I get it. They just ate too much fish. Did you know that fish are 50% mercury? Wait, I take that back. Make that parts per million.
The Hippocratic Oath to "Do No Harm" has been replaced with the New Hippocratic Oath "What The Heck" when your friendly dentist declares "Open wide, please" ("I'd like to "place" some mercury 2 inches from your brain"). By the way, how are the wife and kids, John?" Have you even heard of a patient telling his friendly dentist, "Wait a minute, Bob, let me think this over. I'd like to have another look at the ADA website and then search Google for some anti-"silver amalgam" sites before you "place" that mercury filling 2 inches from my brain." It would scare the living daylights out of dentists and the ADA if patients started to talk like that and make informed choices. They might decide not to let the dentist "place" mercury in their mouth at all, which would be a catastrophe for the ADA if enough patients got informed and made that same informed choice. Informed patients are the ADA's worst nightmare. The ADA's motto is "Keep 'em Stupid!"
Kerr, a leading "silver amalgam" manufacturer, puts this chilling warning on the packing slip that accompanies the "silver amalgams" it sells to dentists, and the ADA hides this product warning from its patients:
"The health authorities of the various countries, including Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Norway and Austria have recommended against the placement or removal of an amalgam in certain individuals such as pregnant and nursing women and persons with impaired kidney function."
Did you notice the manufacturer said "an amalgam"? That means one amalgam. Mercury is so toxic that "placing" or removing one single "silver amalgam" filling can cause serious health problems. The ADA knows that. It's on the bottle. Which is why it hides the manufacturer's warning from patients. Warning? I didn't see any warning? Did you see any warning?
Do you think the ADA has a financial interest in "silver amalgams" or are they only providing information to people and holding the door? Read the following and decide. On April 5, 2005, in an act of supreme arrogance, the ADA threatened to withhold dental services from the children of Maine if mercury fillings are banned in Maine. Indeed, in a letter to a Maine legislative committee, the ADA says it is particularly focused on the need for continued use of mercury fillings in children and the handicapped. Talk about victimizing the defenseless. I think the ADA should be up for the Oscar for Caring and Compassion. They'd win, hands down. After evaluating the scientific evidence against "silver amalgams" Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Austria placed a total ban on the use of "silver amalgams". Parents in Canada, California, Maine and in many European countries, are specifically warned that children and pregnant women should not have "silver amalgam" fillings "placed" in their mouth. The ADA doesn't like that warning at all. Maine and California are the ADA's least favorite states in the Union. The ADA is not crazy about Canada either. And Europe, we won't even talk about Europe.
The ADA is a truly evil organization. They are now insisting that children in the
state of Maine have "silver amalgam" fillings "placed" in their mouth, or else the
ADA will take action. If you have any doubt about their evil intent and actions
then read this site.
All doubt will be dispelled.
In the case of children with no mercury fillings in their mouths and who are found to be autistic or suffering from other serious neurological problems, mercury migrates from the mother's fillings, crosses the placenta and ends up in the brain of the unborn child. Mercury is also in breast milk. Dental mercury is so powerful that autism and ADD are often the result of poisoning from the mother's "silver amalgam" fillings. These facts are well-documented. Please read Turning Lead into Gold by Dr. Zigurt Strauts, M.D. He detoxified children using DMSA chelation. The Canadian Medical Association rewarded him for his fine work by taking away his license to treat children. And the Canadian government stood by and did absolutely nothing. Let's have a big round of applause for the Canadian Medical Association and Health Canada, the Canadian government's Department of Health. They should be called the Department of Weapons of Mass Destruction -- for caring so much about the health of their citizens. In my opinion they should all be up on criminal charges. They are the same as thugs and murders. The only difference is they wear white collars and when their work is done they don't run the other way. They turn the lights out, drive home, take a beer from the fridge, put their feet up, turn on the TV and collect fat government pensions through direct-deposit -- paid for in part by those they have spent their working days poisoning. The ADA and its Canadian counterpart, the CDA, sanctioned by the FDA and Health Canada, sell poison through their crack sales force, the dental profession. They gladly poison even children to make money.
The bottom line is that the ADA does not see itself as responsible to the American public for telling the truth about the dangers of dental mercury amalgam. And it is not. Because there is no law and no governing body that compels the ADA to tell the truth about anything at all. Lacking a conscience they do whatever comes naturally which is lying and poisoning people. If the ADA told the truth about "silver amalgams" they'd be in jail. As far as the ADA is concerned they are responsible for one thing and one thing only: to keep creating profits for the ADA. The ADA has no legal responsibility to either dentists or patients or anyone else, and having had its conscience lobotomized way back in the 19th century it feels just great all the time about everything. Come on kiddies, open wide, here's a brand new shiny mercury filling for you.
Here's how I feel about the ADA. The ADA has been using its license to kill since 1859. Making the claim that "silver amalgam" fillings are safe has always been preposterous and this constitutes the basis for criminal prosecution of the ADA because the ADA has been acting with intent to deceive. It has been shoveling thousands of tons of mercury into millions of unsuspecting patients' mouths every year in the form of "silver amalgam" fillings while actively deceiving them about the content of those "silver amalgam" fillings and not disclosing their conflict of interest to patients. The fact is that the ADA has racked up a death toll unequalled in medical history. The ADA really does have a license to kill. That license was issued by the government. It was issued by the FDA. Without FDA sanction and collusion the ADA would have been behind bars long ago.
Yes, there's a lot of money being made selling mercury to dental patients and the ADA is determined to keep on raking it in, no matter what. Maybe one day someone will blow the whistle and the game will be up. Maybe one day, the penal code will be enforced and the ADA will be brought up on criminal charges. May be one day the ADA will be called to task for its deceit and for the terrible harm it has done. Looking at all the evidence it is clear the ADA is an association of psychopaths that functions without conscience, outside morality that normal people possess. I find no other plausible explanation for the ADA's ability to put profit above the health of its patients, enabling it to do so much harm to so many people. Murder is a capital offense. The ADA belongs in jail. Without the possibility of parole. To protect the public from the ADA they should throw away the key.
I think that's a great piece of advice. See something, say something. If you see some silver colored fillings in your mouth then say something to your dentist about the dangers of dental mercury. Ask him or her why they are called silver amalgam fillings when they are actually 50% mercury. It should be an interesting discussion. Please read The Big Dental Lie before your next visit to the dentist.
